“Feline’s Four-Year Absence Ends with a Heartwarming Homecoming”

After nearly four years of being separated from her family, Bella the cat has finally returned to her Fife home. She had gone missing in May 2017, on the same day that her family returned from vacation. However, there was hope when she was recently found sheltering under a car on a street approximately 15 miles away from her home, although she was soaking wet. Her owner, Joel Caldicott, and his three sons were thrilled and “astonished” to hear the news that Bella would be reunited with them.

According to Bella’s father, Joel Caldicott, their beloved pet went missing on the day they returned from their vacation back in 2017. Despite having a friend feed her that morning, they unfortunately missed seeing her when they arrived home later that afternoon. It was heartbreaking for the family to break the news to their young sons, who were all under 10 years old at the time. After four long years, someone found Bella on the streets and took her in before contacting the local animal welfare helpline. Fortunately, Bella’s microchip was updated with her latest details, allowing the shelter to quickly contact the provided number.

The Caldicott family received an unexpected phone call from Kelly McGuire, a Scottish SPCA animal rescue officer, informing them that their beloved pet dog Bella had been found alive and well after being missing for nearly four years. The family was overjoyed and surprised by the news and their sons were particularly happy to have Bella back, with one of them even giving up his room for her. Despite being initially unsure, Bella quickly settled back into her old routine and Mr. Caldicott compared her return to the happy ending of a Disney movie. Although she was thin, Bella appeared to be in good health when she was found and Ms. McGuire and the rescuers were shocked to hear that she had been missing since 2017.

The enigma of how she survived all those years after venturing 15 miles away from home still remains unsolved. Hopefully, the story of her survival will serve as a beacon of hope to pet owners who have lost their furry friends. In addition, it is important for people who may have unknowingly adopted someone else’s pet to check for a microchip so that the pet can finally reunite with their rightful family.
