For three consecutive nights, the household was unable to get proper rest due to a mournful meowing sound emanating from the street. The cry of a cat in distress filled their ears and weighed heavily on their hearts. Despite enduring this feline “concert” for two consecutive nights, the family could no longer ignore the heartwrenching sounds on the third night. They decided to go out and search for the source of the meows.

After some investigating, they discovered that the cat was stuck up a tall pine tree, 15 meters high! When they shone a lantern on the poor creature, its eyes appeared huge, almost extraterrestrial. Braving the height of the tree, the group climbed up to save the stranded feline.

Due to lack of sustenance, the feline was severely weakened and barely able to make a sound. After being safely retrieved from the tree, it was discovered that the cat had been white as snow for approximately half a year, but was now dirty and emaciated. The kind-hearted rescuers made the decision to take the cat in, despite already having two felines at home. They affectionately named it Squirrel and are currently working on nursing it back to health.

The new neighbor has caught the attention of the cat, causing it to hiss in anger at first. However, Belka’s owners remain optimistic that the two animals will eventually become familiar with each other. It’s worth noting that there was a window nearby where Belka was shot from, making it easy for someone to acquire a cat without any effort. Sadly, the people who witnessed Belka’s last moments did nothing to help, despite being exposed to the screams of a dying animal for two days. They were unaware and unresponsive to the situation.
