Karlee received news about a group of puppies hiding beneath a pile of wood in Jeju Island, South Korea. The situation became critical when the locals realized that the wood scrap was going to be removed and destroyed. Due to the vast area, it required a team to locate the pups before it’s too late. The team set up traps with food and water upon reaching the construction site.

The objective was to ensure the safety and well-being of the puppies. To achieve this, Karlee resorted to using food and water, which are not readily available to stray dogs, to lure them out of the large woodpile and into their custody. She visited the location during her lunch break and after work every day, hoping to catch the pups. After a few days, the tiny ones eventually emerged, though they were hesitant at first. Despite accomplishing the first part of their mission, there was still more to be done. Pups of their age do not live alone, and their mother was likely somewhere nearby. The team had no clue about how to locate her as she could be anywhere.

Every day, the team would search for food and resources to help the mama dog. Nobody knew how far she had to travel to survive. They hoped to find her hanging around the site, but it took them several days to catch their first glimpse of her. Unfortunately, they soon discovered that rescuing her would be a slow process. The mama dog was extremely wary of humans and couldn’t be lured with treats or food. This made the situation even more difficult, especially since they were on a remote island with no means of conventional trapping. As a last resort, they decided to try something else.

All their attempts to gain control over their situation had failed miserably, whether it was finding food, shelter or even building cages. They were at their wits’ end until they came up with a brilliant idea. They realized they could use the puppies as a bait to get what they want. So they put the adorable pups on the back of a truck and headed towards Karlee’s house. The mama dog followed them frantically, chasing the truck for the entire ten-minute drive.
